In 2006 we descided to add a cat of breed to our family. First we needed to find out what breed we liked the most. I loved the British shorthair and Katja was into British longhairs.
But what color?
Katja loved bi colors I liked the Garfield looking cats best. After clicking on some pictures I discovered I liked golden cats best. I found out that there where lots of graduations. I loved the warm reddish golden most. I digged in and found some sites explaining basic genetics of this cats and discovered the silvers and found out that heterozygous silvers produced goldens. I looked at pedigrees and found out that the Persians and Exotics who where having light tipping where called chinchilla's. I visited websites of golden breeders and clicked on every possible link. At that time I knew all golden breeders cattery names. After googeling goldens I found my favorite cat. He was called Marvellous golden Radetzki and lived in the Goldfever cattery from Richard Meyndert.
Int. CH. Marvellous golden Radetzki: father of Dana
I found out that he was bred by Mrs. Wellmeyer from the Marvellous cattery and that she was just retired and sold almost all cats. I contacted Richard for a beautiful golden kitten but everything gold was just sold. He only had a longhair silver kitten out of
Marvellous golden Radetzki x Souvereigns no limit.
Ch. Goldfever's silver Dana
I was convinced about the good qualities of this kitten and in the back of my head I was already thinking about having a golden litter myself. I already was so digged in the genetics and understood the major part. I looked and found only a few that where not having a Oaxaca pedigree. I understood I needed to find new bloodlines and try to work towards my dreamcats. A while later I found my absolute dreamcat on the internet and she was available. I convinced Katja. This was Bizou de Notre Dame de Creuze.

A while later I bought a female silver cat from the famous Vum Rousegaard cattery. She was called Paquita vum Rousegaard Nobilia vum Rousegaard x Silver Kiparis no Demetra

My first litter ever the A-litter
After a long search I found out that there where only 2-3 strange Non Marvellous, Non d'Oaxaca bloodlines to be found.I descided that Goldfever's silver Dana who was a little overtyped according to the judges could best be combined with a less typed male with good qualitys.
I found out that Abimo de Moths d'Olympe carried superb polygenes, point and dillute but he was a bloodgroup B with less good type and he was mackerel what was according to some breeders "NOT DONE"

I did it anyway because I did not see any health problems in such a combi. They produced Sundust's magic Alphonso who was a very coby imposing chinchilla male
Sundust's magic Alphonso
Sundust's magic Alphonso (black chinchilla)
Sundust's magic Alphonso (black chinchilla)
If lucky he could produce superb goldens, even points and bluegoldens. I needed to have a female for him that was chinchilla and not related. After looking around I only found a few cattery's and only one in the Benelux. This cattery who was called cattery Boucheron and was specializing in chinchilla's. By coincidence someone asked me for a kitten from Juno our beautiful bi color.
Int. Ch. Juno of Ripous Castle
This was Marijke from cattery Bellismo who is no longer breeding. She told me she was having a chinchilla female. I asked her "are you sure?" They are so hard to find!!! Marijke told me she was called Senna Boucheron and sent me the pedigree. I asked her do you intend to breed with this female. She already was mated before with a silver tabby?? I told her I knew a chinchilla male. Internet was my best friend at that time... She told me she was willing to try it and I convinced her that I would help. Finally we agreed... She was having the first pick in Juno's litter and I would have the first pick in this future litter. The male chinchilla cat was Silver Gitano d'Oaxaca living in the cattery Notre dame de Creuze out of the famous cattery d'Oaxaca.
Silver Gitano d'Oaxaca
I anounced this litter on my old website. I had big expectations because I knew Gitano produced already some blue silvers and blue goldens. In this litter there were 2 blue chinchilla females. I needed to take one and picked Bellisimo's Dusha out. At that time Pascale and Bruno contacted me for a female out of this litter. They purchased Bellismo's Miu the other blue chinchilla female who was a very important female in the Cattery Maneki Neko. Bellismo's Dusha was a very rare blue chinchilla
Bellisimo's Dusha (blue chinchilla)
I hoped by mating Alphonso I would be able to produce my first (blue) goldens, again not that lucky. 5 big kittens all black- and blue chinchilla's. They all went to breeders from Canada to Russia. The only british longhair went to France and later became World Champion.

For my blue golden female Bizou I looked for a strange male bloodline and found a very good male in France near Paris at the famous chatterie “Oll Josy” . He was at 333km from us but I was willing to go that far and even further for a strange bloodline. I already knew he probably did not carry dillute and knew he produced some longhaired kittens too. It was the famous “Sacha Oll Josy” from Jocelyne Caudullo.

Bizou needed a remating to get pregnant from him. They produced my c-litter 2 males golden, 1 short- and 1 longhair and 2 females, 1 short- and one longhair.
Sundust's golden Camaro and Contessa (c-litter)
Sundust's golden Casanova and Cayenne (c-litter)
I kept 1 male that looked a lot like his father.

Unfortunately Bizou one of my favorites and one of my double foundation females was suddenly positively HCM tested. All of my future plans where no longer possible. I needed to review everything… Not only did I lose one of my foundation bloodlines I also lost my beautiful stud male.
I needed to find a new male fast and found a very good typed bluegolden male kitten (homozygote shorthair). He came from the Dutch cattery (Pronkse Schonen) He was called
Ch. Gusev van de Pronkse Schonen
Ch.
Gusev van de Pronkse Schonen
Later on he was sold with the approval from his breeders to be the first bluegolden foundation stud in the UK in the Amazolou cattery from Zoë Amarilli
He was mated with my black chinchilla longhair. I did not keep anything because his pedigree was partly the same than my bigger body double female bloodline. One kitten out of this litter is a very beautiful foundation female in the cattery “Silver Legend”.

Later I tried Dusha x Du blue d’or golden Sancho but in this combi I did not find what I was looking for. This was my K-litter

In the mean while my Alphonso was working and available for silver/golden breeders who were not afraid to WORK and see his potential for their breeding plans. At that time I witnessed some Marvellous x Wahrberg matings and thought they were all super colored. My favorite cat Ceur André Zur Sternenbucht who lived in the Wahrberg cattery and was bred by Romeo and Daniella Stanic. (cattery Zur Sternenbucht)
Ceur Andre zur Sternenbucht (probably one of the first real golden chinchilla's ever produced)
I needed to have Wahrberg blood!!!
I contacted the cattery Zur Sternenbucht and showed my interest in a (fe)male out of Willow vom Wahrberg. For some reason my e-mail was lost and never answerd. I did not try again but one year later I received a request for a mating from the Wahrberg female Golden Willow with my Alphonso. Willow was the mother from Ceur André and I fully agreed and was so curious about this dream couple. Unfortunately there was only one male kitten with the most extreme golden color I had ever seen. This kitten should stay as an available stud somehow. I proposed to give him his new home! We agreed that he would come to live here and agreed to work together. This male Zur Sternenbucht golden Macavity was an upgrade from Alphonso and I decided it was better to use him instead of Alphonso on Dusha and Paquita.
Zur Sternenbucht golden Macavity
Macavity was combined with Paquita and this combi gave me
Sundust's silver Lulu
Sundust's silver lulu
and Macavity x Dusha gave me.
Sundust's silver Mirre Mirres brother Sundust's silver Max whent also to the UK to live with Zoë Amarilli (cattery Amazolou) to strenghten the bluegolden breeding program.
Sundust's silver Mirre
In the mean while I did an experimantal mating from our bi color Juno of Ripous Castle x Zur Sternenbucht golden Macavity
Int.Ch. Juno of Ripous Castle
I expect something in between a black- or blue tabby ticked or a black- or blue golden. The result was proof that homozygote chinchilla cats can do miracles... I learned a lot out of this mating and I will never be affraid from good outcrossings....
For my next litter I now needed to find another strong polygened male. Daniela and Romeo where working very hard and made a combination from a strange bloodline female with there superb Flanigan vom Avoesel. There was again a kitten with super polygenes in ther litter.
Zur Sternenbucht bluegolden Zucchero
I now have 2 beautiful youngster females out of Lulu x Zucchero
Sundust's golden Oriƫlle
Sundust's silver Querida
I hoped for another female out of Mirre because Mirre produced already 1 blue golden chinchilla male. This kitten is
Sundust's bluegolden Pankaj
Pankaj now lives in the cattery Grimm's Barchen with Thörsten and Tanja Grimm. Thörsten is also a judge and a working breeder and creates lots of new bloodlines.
and an even bigger surprise is a blue chinchilla boy that looked soo white...
Sundust's bluesilver Revelin
and then there was the not planned but very welcome litter from Lulu 1 black golden chinchilla boy 2 black golden shaded boy's and 1 black golden shaded female
Sundust's golden Sirius, Sundust's golden Shiro, Sundust's golden Skylar and Sundust's golden Suchin

And the single golden shaded kitten out Extacy Cashman of golden Flame x Sundust's golden Oriëlle who is bin raised by a foster mom from a friendly collaegue Erika Verpoucke. Takeshi moved to a Nice collague Maja Dormova who already proofed to have a warm home and Cattery for our cats. Takeshi is one of the future studs in the Cattery "Silver Legend"
Sundust's golden Takeshi
In my search for improvement I wanted to have a kitten out of an imposing female that I knew for a few years now. I have seen some adults out this combination and am very pleased with the results.

My latest litters: black- and blue golden chinchilla's together with black- and blue chinchilla's
22/02/2018 birth off Sundust's chocogolden Zeus (one of the first choco golden chinchilla in the world)
I can look back and say it was a bumpee road so far and working with silvers was not the easiest way . When I look around here in our house I see more silvers than goldens but every single cat here carries the strong polygenes for golden, dillute, sometimes chocolat and some point. I still see lots of room for improvement.
I will keep on working the way I was and while working there will be more and more very rare colors born. I look forward to the future! We are already planning next litters and maybe even an introduction of something new...
